How to make fabric tulips
Tulip!!! I am so in love with tulips. They are so adorable with variety of colors and types. But usually it is costly to buy fresh tulips in the market which can last for up to 7 days. You will be luckier if you buy a tulip in a pot so it will maybe last for a month. So I decide to make a fabric tulip instead. Here are the instructions:
Materials:
- Cotton fabric (any style and color). Cut the fabric into a rectangle (dimension: 15 cm x 10 cm). The dimension can be vary according to how big you want your tulip to be.
- Plastic beads
- Thin wadding
- Green felt fabric
- Wood stick cover by green flower tape
- Cotton yarn (color match with your fabric)
- Scissors, ruler, flower tape
Step 1
Fold the rectangle in half then start sewing two edges.
Step 2
Place the wood stick like the photo then use cotton yarn to tide the fabric to the stick.
Step 3
Turn into the right side of the fabric. Start folding 1 cm of the remain edge in.
Step 4
Push small amount of thin wadding to the center of the fabric cylinder.
Step 5
Sew the top of the fabric cylinder so that you can see a nice 4 pedals. You can sew a small plastic bead in the center of the flower to make it look better and also hide the cotton yarn.
You should make about 10 tulips with 4 to 5 tulip leafs in order to make a tulip bouquet or you can place them in a vase. They will last for ages and you can use them to decorate your house very nicely. My friend also use tulip fabric bouquet in her wedding because they are such gorgeous flowers.
I hope you guys will find this tutorial easy to follow and useful as well. Enjoy your flower!
